Nameless Endless

When friends come into town sometimes you end up going to new places you would never go to in your regular routine. That's how I ended up at Local 138 hearing the awesome song that noone could identify. It starts off like typical indie rock, goes into a progressive-rock break and then into a wonderful Pixies-like bass interlude. The lyrics are indistinguishable. None of my friends had ever heard it. I asked the bartender, but he didn't know. He took the CD out of the player and it was just a burnt CD with the number 15 on it. One by one, I asked everyone in the bar to help me figure out the origins of this song as the bartender played it over and over again. I even went outside and started pulling people off the street, but noone had ever heard it. I called my DJ friends and played it over the phone, but no luck. Mukai brought her computer to the bar and burned it into her itunes and emailed me the MP3. Here's the song:

'?', ?

***Update: By the time I got to my inbox 2 hours after the post, you guys had all figured it out!

That picture of the guy sitting with some drums, and theres a really huge woman skeleton piece of artwork on the wall..i cant find that picture again and really need to.

In the UK you can identify any track with your phone. Just dial 2580 and stick your mobile next to the speaker for 20 seconds... the service texts you artist/title details of whatever song you just played it - saved my life loads of times :-) costs about a quid a time - shazam.com

looks to fit this song the best

so, it looks like "We Versus The Shark - This Graceless Planet"

God damn you! Andrew and I love that bar.

The name of the song is, "This Graceless Planet," by a band called, We Versus the Shark. Here are the lyrics:

Rebels, guns, ingenues - all diamondless coal.
Paranoia and pop charts, but you know how we roll
What's that, baby? Yeah, I miss God too.
But he's doing just fine without you, that's right.

This graceless planet has accrued its debt.
(And now it's time to pay it up!)
This graceless planet has accrued its debt.
(And now it's time to pay it up!)
This graceless planet is a skull's head death.
(And now it's time to pay it up!)

It's been a long time, I shouldn't have left you.
Disciples from the past have come for yourr daughters.
A gentleman from the future has reclaimed California.
A frozen clock sudden stop puts culture shock at odds.
Baby needs some new math, baby needs a couple more jobs.
And we have always lived in this village.
And we have always lived in this village.

This graceless planet has accrued its debt.
(And now it's time to pay it up!)
This graceless planet has accrued its debt.
(And now it's time to pay it up!)
This graceless planet is a skull's head death.
(And now it's time to pay it up)!
This graceless planet has accrued its debt.
(And now it's time to pay!)

The song is "The Graceless Planet" by We Versus the Shark. They're a bit of a cross between Archers of Loaf and At the Drive In.
